David Miller, LCPC
David offers an encouraging, supportive and direct approach to counseling. After spending more than 20 years working with college students, he recognized a desire to better understand and support people experiencing significant mental health challenges. That realization led him to pursue clinical mental health counseling and ultimately shaped the work he does today.
Approach
David describes his counseling style as supportive, encouraging and direct. He believes in meeting clients where they are while also encouraging accountability and helping them identify practical steps toward the changes they want to make.
Our first appointment is about more than identifying what brought you to counseling. He wants to get to know you. What do you like and dislike? Who supports and encourages you? What matters to you? And, most importantly, what can he do to best serve you?
His work incorporates approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. David also has experience with adult ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and substance use disorder assessments, and he serves as a Social Security Disability advocate.
